Look What Popped Up On Our Lawn

Look What Popped Up On Our Lawn

Asbury, NEW JERSEY – March 21, 2012 – As yesterday marked the first day of Spring in the United States, our North Eastern area of NJ can actually see the signs evidenced in vibrant lemon yellow daffodils and rich violet hued crocuses.  But what else is popping up on our lawn?  Currently the muted shade of concrete, oh so sad, our Cavaliers are standing like soldiers awaiting their assignment.  They patiently await their destiny to become brightly painted in your shades!

Our “Jocko” boy jockeys stand at 26 inches high and the “Cavalier” lawn jockeys are 44 inches tall.  We don’t have a precise weight for the Cavalier yet, but the “Jocko” is about 65 pounds.  We are guesstimating him at about 120-130 lbs.  Perhaps we should have a contest for his actual weight?

If you’d like to order your custom lawn jockey, contact us at mail_syc@yahoo.com or visit our Etsy store at http://www.equestrianartatsyc.etsy.com
and be sure to “Like” us on Facebook, http://www.facebook.com/equestrianartatsyc,  where we will be posting specials and contests.

And remember… Original lawn jockeys were made of iron and weighed between 300 and 400 lbs with the functional use of securing a horse. Today they need not hold a horse but represent popular lawn ornaments, and a common showcase for the thoroughbred racing community to show their colors. At Show Your Colors, our in-house artist depicts your colors making a great lasting impression onto a lawn jockey. Imagine your favorite team, your company logo, your racing silks, or simply your favorite colors commemorated onto your choice of jockey styles! Show Your Colors is also available for commissioned equine portraits, and framed racing colors.
